Multiple sources have told Tuscaloosa Patch that the small plane crashed in the Black Warrior Rive and the incident is currently being investigated by the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB).

The pilot killed in the crash β identified as Edward Todd of Tuscaloosa β was the only person in the aircraft after it reportedly clipped a power line before going down.
Tuscaloosa Fire Rescue says the initial call came in at 10:30 a.m.

TFR spokeswoman Holly Whigham told Patch that the department sent its dive team, water rescue team and drone, along with rescue trucks.
