Brailsford, Jefferson Earn SEC Weekly Honors

TUSCALOOSA, AL — Alabama center Parker Brailsford and linebacker Justin Jefferson were named Southeastern Conference (SEC) players of the week on Monday.

Brailsford earned SEC Offensive Lineman of the Week, while Jefferson shared Co-Defensive Player of the Week honors.

The recognitions follow the Crimson Tide’s 30–14 win over No. 16 Vanderbilt on Saturday at Bryant-Denny Stadium.

Brailsford played all 69 snaps at center and graded out at 88% by Alabama’s coaching staff. He did not allow a sack, pressure or quarterback hit, registered a team-high 11 knockdown blocks and helped the Tide total 486 yards, including 146 rushing against the SEC’s No. 3 run defense.

Jefferson led the defense with 14 tackles (nine solo), adding a sack and a forced fumble in the red zone early in the game. His late sack also helped stall Vanderbilt’s final drive.

The weekly awards are the first of Brailsford’s and Jefferson’s careers and bring Alabama’s season total to five SEC weekly honors.
