Brent Man Dies After Monday Night Crash In Bibb County

TUSCALOOSA, AL — A Brent man is dead following a single-vehicle crash Monday night a few miles north of Brent.

The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA) told local media on Tuesday that the fatal crash occurred at approximately 10:21 p.m. Monday when the 2010 Toyota Camry driven by George T. Middlebrooks, 64, left the roadway, struck a ditch and overturned.

ALEA went on to say that Middlebrooks was not using a seat belt at the time of the crash and was transported to Bibb Medical Center in Centreville, where he died from his injuries.

The crash occurred on Bibb County Road 1, roughly three miles north of Brent.

The cause of the fatal crash remains under investigation.
