Chamber Presents Volunteer Awards, Member Of The Year At Annual Meeting

Northport Sports Development, LLC, hosted the annual event, which saw Tim Harrison of Harrison Construction Company named the Charles H. Land Member of the Year — the highest honor given to an individual member.

"Not many people know that Tim’s involvement is so huge,” 2024 Chamber Board of Directors Chair Jheovanny Gomez said. “So well deserved. We are a better community because of him.”
The Honorable Richard C. Shelby Leadership Award was presented to Fitzgerald Washington, which recognizes extraordinary leadership and service to the West Alabama community.

The official transition to the 2025 leadership team then began following the ceremony as Gomez, of Jalapenos Mexican Grill, officially passed the gavel to Carl Jamison of JamisonMoneyFarmer PC, who now serves as the 2025 chair of the Chamber’s Board of Directors.

The Robert C. Tanner Corporate Service Award — Phifer Incorporated.
The Ambassador of the Year Award — Tera Batayneh of RiverFall Credit Union.
The Diverse Business Council Trailblazer Award — Erica Grant of The Charm District.
The Nonprofit of the Year Award — Turning Point.
Distinguished Service Awards — Matt Feller of BF Goodrich and Karen Thompson-Jackson of Temporary Emergency Services.
The Entrepreneurial Rising Star Award — Daniel Barnett of RTR Pro Entertainment.
