Chicago Pizza Express Opens In Northport

Chicago Pizza Express has officially opened in Northport in the former location of California Underground Pizzeria.

NORTHPORT, AL — Chicago Pizza Express has officially opened in Northport in the former location of California Underground Pizzeria.

The new pizzeria is located in the Winn-Dixie shopping center off of U.S. Highway 43 and will be open each day at 4 p.m., according to signage posted at the eatery.

The menu offers pizzas, calzones, cheesestix, subs, hotdogs and other sandwiches.

As Patch previously reported, California Underground closed for good last September after two changes of ownership.

The pizzeria was originally opened as Chicago Pizza more than two decades ago before becoming California Underground after a change in ownership in December 2003, shortly after the Winn-Dixie shopping center first opened.

According to business entity records filed with the Alabama Secretary of State's Office, Chicago Pizza Express, LLC, was formed on Sept. 6, with its registered agent being listed as Timothy J. Oliver of Fayette.

Monday: 4 p.m-9 p.m.

Tuesday: 4 p.m-9 p.m.

Wednesday: 4 p.m-9 p.m.

Thursday: 4 p.m-9 p.m.

Friday: 4 p.m-10 p.m.

Saturday: 4 p.m-10 p.m.

Sunday: 4 p.m-9 p.m.
