Childersburg Woman Killed, Two Injured In Tuscaloosa County Crash
ALEA says a two-vehicle crash Saturday in northern Tuscaloosa County resulted in the death of a Childersburg woman.

TUSCALOOSA, AL — The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA) says a two-vehicle crash Saturday in northern Tuscaloosa County resulted in the death of a Childersburg woman and two additional injuries.

ALEA said the fatal wreck occurred at approximately 2:30 p.m. Saturday when a 2024 Nissan Rogue collided head-on with the 2006 Ford F-150 pickup driven by a man from Lamar County

Barbara J. Kornegay, 80, was a passenger in the Nissan and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the Nissan, a man from Childersburg, was injured and transported to DCH Regional Medical Center in Tuscaloosa for medical treatment, along with another injured passenger from Sylacauga.

The crash occurred approximately 16 miles north of Tuscaloosa.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
