DCH Health System Hires New Laboratory Director

DCH Health System on Tuesday announced that Eric Stanford has joined the west Alabama health care provider as its new laboratory director.

TUSCALOOSA, AL — DCH Health System on Tuesday announced that Eric Stanford has joined the west Alabama health care provider as its new laboratory director.

Stanford will oversee laboratory functions at both DCH Regional Medical Center in Tuscaloosa and Northport Medical Center.

The new laboratory director comes to DCH from Vanderbilt University Medical Center where he was operations manager of the Core Laboratory and Emergency Department laboratories.

Stanford also helped support diagnostic testing in the main VUMC Laboratory and also provided cross-support for regional hospital and satellite laboratories across Tennessee.

“Eric has an extensive background in day-to-day lab operations,” DCH Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer Mallary Myers said. “With this deep experience and transformative leadership style, I’m confident he will be a great asset to DCH.”

Stanford holds doctor of health science degree with a concentration in health care and hospital administration from the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences. He also completed a master’s degree in health care administration from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

Stanford is credited with several published works in different professional publications such as The Journal of Applied Laboratory Medicine and has participated on various committees of the Clinical & Laboratory Standards Institute.
