Death Investigation Underway After Man's Body Found In Fosters
A 55-year-old man found dead early Wednesday along a roadside in the Fosters community died from internal injuries caused by blunt force.

FOSTERS, AL — The Tuscaloosa Violent Crimes Unit says a 55-year-old man found dead early Wednesday along a roadside in the Fosters community died from internal injuries caused by blunt force.

Captain Jack Kennedy, commander of the multiagency unit, told local media on Friday that volunteer firefighters and Tuscaloosa County Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched about 5 a.m. Oct. 8 to the 15000 block of Sylvan Loop Road after a passerby reported a motorcycle standing on its kickstand near the shoulder and a man lying beside it.

The man was then identified as Michael Lee Jordan, 55.
Kennedy said there were no visible external injuries on Jordan and no apparent damage to the motorcycle.

He then said an autopsy later determined the cause of death was internal trauma consistent with blunt force.
Kennedy also said investigators believe the rider’s helmet may have protected him from external injuries, but the fatal injuries were internal.
The case remains under investigation and Kennedy said anyone who was in the area of Sylvan Loop Road in the early morning hours Wednesday or who has information is asked to contact the Tuscaloosa Violent Crimes Unit at (205) 464-8692.
