NORTHPORT, AL — Donations are being collected after a Tuscaloosa County volunteer fire department's chief recently lost his home in a fire.

According to the Montgomery Volunteer Fire Department, Mt. Olive Volunteer Fire Department Chief Greg Robertson and his family lost all of their belongings in the fire last week.

No one was injured in the fire but the home was deemed a total loss.

The Montgomery Volunteer Fire Department says it collected donations at its monthly fish fry over the weekend and is still accepting donations through Cash App and Venmo to Board of Directors President Morgan Brashier.

Donations can also be dropped off at MVFD's Station No. 1 on Mormon Road.
