Donations Sought For Family Of Sisters Killed In Woodlawn Manor Shooting
The grandmother of two sisters who were killed earlier this week has reached out to the community for help with expenses.

TUSCALOOSA, AL — The grandmother of two sisters who were fatally shot in a Tuscaloosa apartment earlier this week is asking the community for help paying for burial and other expenses.

As Patch previously reported, the victims were identified as 20-year-old Kaliyah Houston and her 16-year-old sister Christasia Prewitt, who were killed in a shooting late Monday night at an apartment in Woodlawn Manor.

A 17-year-old male was also shot and is expected to survive.
The family has asked the community to provide support by making donations directly to Wills' Funeral Home, located at 701 Martin Luther King Boulevard in Northport.

According to investigators from the Tuscaloosa Violent Crimes Unit, the suspect, 19-year-old Keshawn Jermichael Woods, had been living with Houston in her apartment for several months.
Investigators believe a dispute erupted Monday night, during which Woods reportedly produced a handgun and began shooting, killing the two sisters were killed and wounding the other teen.
Investigators said several small children — including an infant — were reportedly present during the shooting, though none were struck or injured during the fatal altercation.
Woods fled the scene on foot and warrants were obtained to charge him with capital murder and attempted murder.
Woods was apprehended a few hours later by the U.S. Marshals Task Force and is currently in the Tuscaloosa County Jail being held without bond.
