'Empty The Shelters' Event To Kick Off Thursday In Tuscaloosa
The Tuscaloosa Metro Animal Shelter will participate in the BISSELL Pet Foundation Empty the Shelters Event on Thursday, July 6.

TUSCALOOSA, AL — In an effort to find forever homes and open up space in the Tuscaloosa Metro Animal Shelter, the nonprofit will participate in the BISSELL Pet Foundation Empty the Shelters Event on Thursday, July 6.

As part of the event, all adoptable animals will have an adoption fee of $10.

The nationwide initiative will run at certain shelters through the end of the month.
To make such a noble effort possible, the BISSELL Pet Foundation provides participating organizations with reimbursement for each pet adopted, with adopters paying no more than $50 and local license fees.

Empty the Shelters has been observed quarterly every year since 2016, helping nearly 158,000 pets find families in 49 states and Canada.
