Excessive Heat Warning For Tuscaloosa County Thursday
The National Weather Service forecast office in Birmingham has issued an Excessive Heat Warning for much of Alabama.

The National Weather Service on Thursday upgraded Tuscaloosa County to an excessive heat warning, with the heat index expected to approach 112 degrees Thursday afternoon.

While most of the state is expected to see extremely high temperatures, the excessive heat warning applies to the western part of the state for Thursday. For Thursday, a heat advisory will be in effect for all but the far eastern counties through 7 p.m. tonight.
On top of the extreme heat, the NWS says storms are expected to develop later this afternoon that could be strong to severe.
