Fiddle Fest Returning To Shelton State In February
Shelton State Community College on Monday announced it is set to once again host Fiddle Fest and the Southeastern Fiddle Championship.

TUSCALOOSA, AL β Shelton State Community College on Monday announced it is set to once again host Fiddle Fest and the Southeastern Fiddle Championship.

The event will be held at the college's Martin Campus on Saturday, Feb. 24, with the one-day festival offering a family-friendly atmosphere that celebrates bluegrass and fiddle music.

The free festival will include arts, crafts, food vendors, and family activities, with free entry also available for all categories for the competition.
Shelton State says the event is made possible through financial donations from the Community Foundation of West Alabama, Visit Tuscaloosa, and the Alabama State Council on the Arts.

βIt seems hard to believe now that we were ever concerned about the life of this event,β Glenn Taylor, President/CEO of the Community Foundation of West Alabama jokingly said. βIt has been so exciting to see our community support Fiddle Fest, and we look forward to its continued growth in the years to come.β
The day's festivities will include the annual Southeast Fiddle Championship, with registration set to begin at 8 a.m., while the competition will begin at 9 a.m.
The competition will pay out over $7,500 in prize money to a variety of categories, with the top prize money being awarded to the first-place bluegrass band, along with the grand champion fiddle player.
