Former Presidential Candidate Beto O'Rourke To Host Book Signing In Tuscaloosa

The focus of O'Rourke's visit will be his latest book, "We've Got To Try: How the Fight for Voting Rights Makes Everything Else Possible​."

TUSCALOOSA, AL — Ernest & Hadley Booksellers on Tuesday announced former Democratic Congressman Beto O'Rourke of Texas will visit Tuscaloosa for a book signing and discussion later this month.

Ernest & Hadley says the event will be held at EasterSeals of West Alabama, which is located at 1400 James I. Harrison Jr Parkway at 6 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 29.

While the event is free and open to the public, organizers request that you RSVP on Eventbrite.

Ernest & Hadley says the book examines the life and work of Civil Rights leader Dr. Lawrence Aaron Nixon and his fight for the ballot to defeat all-White political primaries.

O’Rourke is a fourth-generation Texan and a small business owner who represented the 16th congressional district of Texas from 2013 to 2019.

O'Rourke has also been a candidate for U.S. Senate, governor of Texas and, most notably, president of the United States during the 2020 Democratic Primary.
