Fosters Ferry Public Boat Ramp To Close For Upgrades
Beginning Tuesday, April 1, the ramp, which is located off Highway 43 near I-20/59 in Fosters near Tuscaloosa.

TUSCALOOSA, AL — The Alabama Department of Conservation and Natural Resource's Wildlife and Freshwater Fisheries Division on Thursday announced it will temporarily close the Fosters Ferry Public Boat Ramp on the Black Warrior River.

Beginning Tuesday, April 1, the ramp, which is located off Highway 43 near I-20/59 in Foster’s near Tuscaloosa, will close for facility upgrades.

State officials say the parking lot will be repaired and re-paved, in addition to current parking lot drainage issues being repaired. What's more, new security lights will be installed, along with a new restroom.
Tuscaloosa County has agreed to provide the services and labor to repair and grade the parking lot to fix the drainage issue.

The renovations, which are a joint project of the state and Tuscaloosa County, are expected to be completed in approximately two or three months.
A reopening date will be announced at a later date.
