FUMC Gearing Up To Host Annual Little Lambs Consignment Sale

TUSCALOOSA, AL — First United Methodist Church in downtown Tuscaloosa is once again set to host its beloved Little Lambs Spring Consignment Sale from Feb. 27 - March 1.

The church has provided the annual sale since 2002 as a way to provide families with deals on gently used infant and children’s clothing and shoes, nursery items, toys, books and accessories.

Proceeds generated from the event benefit the church's children’s ministries, mission projects and a community grant. Organizers say recent sales have seen more than 20,000 items from more than 200 local consignors for each seasonal sale.

“Little Lambs is the perfect opportunity for parents, grandparents and friends to find deals on gently used clothing, toys, costumes, strollers, furniture and more,” Little Lambs Committee Member Janine McGee said. “While shoppers find amazing buys, a portion of the proceeds also help the FUMCT ministries with resources that benefit children of the church and our community. I personally love that I can buy most of what my child needs for half the year, and buy a size up in case he hits an unexpected growth spurt.”

Doors will open to the public on Thursday, Feb. 27 at 6 p.m. for a preview sale, which will offer shoppers a first chance at the items before the general public.

A $5 admission will be charged for the preview sale and no strollers are allowed that night.

On Friday, Feb. 28, from 9 a.m. until 6 p.m., the sale will be open to the public with free admission.

The sale will conclude on Saturday, March 1, from 9 a.m. to noon, which will include most items at half price.

Church members and community volunteers facilitate the sale, with volunteer slots still available.

Volunteers are also able to shop prior to the preview sale.
