Greensboro Woman Killed In Hale County Crash Thursday

TUSCALOOSA, AL β€” A Greensboro woman is dead following a two-vehicle crash on Alabama Highway 69 in Hale County Thursday morning.

The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA) says the deadly collision occurred at approximately 11:15 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 29, when a 2014 Cadillac XTS driven by a 66-year-old Greensboro woman collided with a 2006 International tractor-trailer driven by a man from Selma.

ALEA says the passenger in the Cadillac β€” 59-year-old Irene W. Watkins of Greensboro β€” was pronounced dead at the scene and the driver of the vehicle was also transported to DCH Regional Medical Center in Tuscaloosa for treatment.

Troopers reported that the crash occurred approximately three miles north of Greensboro in Hale County.

The cause of the fatal accident remains under investigation.
