This will be the second organized protest this year in Tuscaloosa, speaking out against the Trump administration's policies. As Patch previously reported, roughly 400 demonstrators held signs and peacefully protested on the sidewalks in front of the courthouse in April.

Saturday's demonstration is described as a national mobilization effort in response to a military parade scheduled for Saturday and other actions by President Trump that organizers say resemble the behavior of a monarch rather than a democratic leader.

The military parade in Washington, D.C., will commemorate the 250th anniversary of the founding of the U.S. Army and will also fall on President Trump's 79th birthday.

“In America, we don’t put up with would-be kings,” Indivisible of West Alabama said in a statement. “We’re showing up everywhere he isn’t — to say no thrones, no crowns, no kings.”
