Intense Flash Flooding Reported Across Tuscaloosa County

Officials are working to get a handle on the scope of flash flooding across the Tuscaloosa metro following a powerful line of storms Tuesday

NORTHPORT, AL — Flash flooding is being reported across west Alabama, as the tornado threat subsides, giving way to worries of inundated creeks and rapidly-rising floodwaters.

In Vestavia East, off of Hunter Creek Road in Northport, Twomile Creek once against breached its banks and impacted numerous homes. To make matters worse, many of these homeowners were caught off guard last June when a historic flooding event caused millions of dollars in property damage.

Places like Willowbrook Trailer Park in Northport were once again flooded, as well, although there have been no reports of swift-water rescues or any word as to the scope of the damage.

  • University Boulevard between Colonial Drive and Wallace Wade Avenue.
  • McFarland Boulevard at 13th Avenue East.
