Jay Logan Elected To Hospice Of West Alabama Board Of Directors
Noted community leader Jay Logan this week was elected to serve a three-year term on the Hospice of West Alabama Board of Directors.

TUSCALOOSA, AL — Noted community leader Jay Logan this week was elected to serve a three-year term on the Hospice of West Alabama Board of Directors.

Logan, a former Northport city council president who presently serves as director of Community Outreach, Athletics, & Senior Programming for Tuscaloosa County Park & Recreation Authority (PARA), will be eligible to serve another three-year term after the end of his firm term.

“I am truly humbled and honored to be recently elected as a Board member to help give support to the organization, the families and the staff," Logan told Patch on Thursday. "Hospice of West Alabama has been a compassionate family advocate for many years and I appreciate the opportunity.”
Before his time at PARA, Logan worked for more than a decade for the City of Tuscaloosa as a water distribution technician in the city engineer's office. He is also active in local youth sports and involved with numerous community groups and initiatives.

A 501(c)(3) private nonprofit organization, Hospice of West Alabama has provided compassionate care to terminally ill patients and their families since May 1982.
The nonprofit is governed by a 25-member Board of Directors and is the oldest provider of hospice services in the West Alabama area.
Hospice of West Alabama is also the only agency serving the area with its own free-standing hospice inpatient facility, which the nonprofit says has served more than 8,200 patients since it opened on Nov. 1, 2004.
