TUSCALOOSA, AL — Heisman Trophy winner Johnny Manziel is set to visit Tuscaloosa to speak to a conference on mental health and wellness at the Bryant Conference Center.

The two-day VitAL Alabama conference is scheduled for Aug. 26-27.

VitAL exists as a partnership between Alabama state agencies and the University of Alabama, which focuses on research, implementation, training and education initiatives.
Manziel is best known for being the first freshman to win the Heisman Trophy in 2012, when he set an SEC record with 5,116 total offensive yards and accounted for 47 touchdowns that season for Texas A&M.

Drafted by the Cleveland Browns in the first round of the 2014 NFL Draft, Manziel’s professional career was short-lived due to personal issues and he has since focused on mental health and substance use advocacy, sharing his story to inspire others.
The conference runs from 8:30 a.m. to 4:15 p.m. each day and will offer attendees an opportunity to hear Manziel’s story and participate in discussions on mental wellness.
Registration options include a full two-day conference for $125, which includes breakfast and lunch both days and up to 11.5 Continuing Education (CE) credits.
A one-day pass is available for $75, providing breakfast, lunch, and up to six CE credits for that day. Students can attend the full conference for $50, with similar meal and CE benefits.
Groups of five or more can register at a discounted rate of $115 per person for the full conference.
