Lebron’s clutch hit came with the winning run on second base and was his only hit of the night as he finished 1-for-4 with one RBI and was hit-by-pitch.

"What a great atmosphere in Madison tonight," Tide head coach Rob Vaughn said. "A very well-pitched game by both teams came down to your best player needing to be your best player, and he got it done. College baseball is such a roller coaster and on a night that we were not elite at the plate and couldn’t really string anything together, we pitched well enough to give Lebron a chance in the ninth and he didn’t miss. Proud of the toughness and fight, and now we turn our attention to a great Oklahoma team coming to town this weekend.”

Left fielder and team captain Kade Snell swung a hot bat to lead the Tide offense with a 2-for-4 performance, including a double and a run scored.

Snell got the tide on the board first in the bottom of the fourth when Alabama took a 2-0 lead after Kade Snell led off with a double, setting up Garrett Staton’s two-run double to right-center to score both Snell and Will Hodo.

Staton returned to the lineup following a 21-game injury absence, also made an impact, going 1-for-3 with a double, two RBIs, and a walk.

Designated hitter Coleman Mizell also added a base hit in his first game as the Tide’s leadoff hitter, finishing 1-for-5. Mizell has reached base safely in every game he has appeared in this season.

Aeden Finateri, a transfer from Georgia Tech, started on the mound for Alabama and tossed two scoreless innings while striking out three.

Coulson Buchanan, a senior who transferred to Alabama from Wofford, struck out five batters in two shutout innings.

Tide closer Carson Ozmer (2-0) earned the win after pitching 1.2 innings, surrendering two walks and striking out one.

The Crimson Tide will return to action Friday at Sewell-Thomas Stadium when it opens a three-game series against No. 9 Oklahoma.

First pitch is set for 6 p.m., with SEC Network+ carrying the broadcast.
