Kentuck Art Center Establishes Edward Guy Collection
Kentuck Art Center on Thursday announced the establishment of The Edward Guy Collection.

TUSCALOOSA, AL — Kentuck Art Center on Thursday announced the establishment of The Edward Guy Collection, which will be housed at its new location in Tuscaloosa.

The collection of more than 60 pieces will debut during a free event on April 4 from 5:30 p.m. - 8 p.m. at Kentuck at Queen City.

"On behalf of Kentuck Art Center and Festival, I am grateful for Edward's incredible vision and generosity," Kentuck Executive Director Exa Skinner said. "He has long recognized the impact of Kentuck, its festival, and its artists. This collection honors Kentuck’s 54-year, nationally-recognized legacy and preserves the rich history of self taught art in West Alabama the southern United States."
Kentuck said Guy has been an invaluable part of its efforts for more than two decades, serving as a board member, board president from 2011-2012, volunteer and supporter.

"For me, Kentuck is joy," Guy said. "It is an investment in happiness. Now, as these pieces become part of Kentuck's permanent collection, one of my goals is being fulfilled."
The new collection features pieces from Jimmy Lee Sudduth, Theresa Disney, Gregory "Mr. Imagination" Warmack and Danny "Bucket Man" Hoskinson.
Kentuck at Queen City says it will be open for regular hours beginning April 5.
