7 p.m.

  • The National Weather Service forecast office in Birmingham has issued a Tornado Watch for a large swath of the state, including Tuscaloosa County and all of the Tuscaloosa Patch coverage area. The Tornado Watch will remain in effect until 2 a.m. Wednesday unless otherwise canceled.

1 p.m.

  • Shelton State Community College has announced it will close early on Tuesday at 2:30 p.m.
  • The Tuscaloosa County School System and Tuscaloosa City Schools have both announced the cancellation of all after-school activities on Tuesday.
  • There are no active watches or warnings for counties and cities in the Tuscaloosa Patch coverage area.
