Shelton State’s comeback against Snead State (6-4) came after the Parsons led 7-0 and 13-6 in the first half and stretched the margin to 20-6 in the second.
Freshman receiver Linijia Seay scored on a 2-yard run with 25 seconds left to cut the deficit to 20-19. On the ensuing try, freshman quarterback Kamryn Everroad — a former Central High standout —connected with freshman receiver Ja’Niya Garrett for the go-ahead two-point conversion.

“The girls came out unfocused — we were still in a fog after the big win,” head coach Doug Rogers said. “We had to refocus and dig in as we were down the whole game.”
Rogers credited Seay and Garrett for “solid play” that kept the Bucs within striking distance, and said freshman quarterback Jayci Sullivan, a former Northside High standout, made key runs late to extend drives.
Seay scored Shelton State’s first touchdown against Snead, and Garrett added the second to set up the winning drive. Freshman Jaidyn Parramore, a Tuscaloosa County graduate, converted an extra point.
Sullivan steered the Bucs to five scoring drives in a 42-6 win over Northwest Shoals, the most points in the fledgling program's history and the fourth-highest single-game total in the ACCC this season.
Rogers called it the team’s “best offensive performance of the year,” noting Shelton State scored on offense and defense.
Freshman cornerbacks Ra’Vonnie King and Parramore each returned interceptions for touchdowns, and freshman defensive back Bree Brannon added a one-handed touchdown catch to punctuate the blowout.
Shelton State is off next weekend before returning to action on Sunday, Oct. 18, in Montgomery against Calhoun and Snead State.
