Louisiana Man Identified As Pedestrian Killed Near Eutaw Last Month

EUTAW, AL — A pedestrian has been identified after being struck and killed by a tractor-trailer on Interstate 59 in Greene County last month.

The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA) says the incident occurred at approximately 12:05 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 23, when 32-year-old Amone R. Moore of Independence, Louisiana, who was in the roadway at the time of the crash, was struck by the 2020 Freightliner Cascadia tractor-trailer driven by a man from Georgia.

ALEA says Moore’s body was transported to the Alabama Department of Forensic Science, where his identity was later confirmed.

The crash occurred on Interstate 59, approximately three miles south of Eutaw, in Greene County.

The fatal accident remains under investigation.
