TUSCALOOSA, AL — A man is behind bars after being accused of shooting his girlfriend in the legs with a pellet gun.

Captain Jack Kennedy of the Tuscaloosa Violent Crimes Unit told local media that Tuscaloosa County Sheriff's deputies responded around noon to the 21000 Block of Washington Drive in Lake View on the report of a domestic altercation and a possible shooting.

Kennedy said deputies arrived and located the female victim, who reported she had been in an argument with her boyfriend, 34-year-old Bryan McGuffie.

Kennedy went on to say that during the argument, the victim was shot in the legs with an air pellet pistol, resulting in minor injuries.

He then said after interviewing all parties and witnesses, as well as executing a search warrant and recovering the suspected air pistol, McGuffie was charged with domestic violence - assault second degree.

McGuffie is being held at the Tuscaloosa County Jail with no bond.
