Man Arrested For Multiple Sexual Offenses In Cottondale And Northport
Investigators on Friday announced charges against a man accused of sexual offenses against children and adults going back to at least 2020.

TUSCALOOSA, AL — The Tuscaloosa Violent Crimes Unit on Friday announced charges against a man accused of sexual offenses against children and adults going back to at least 2020.

Captain Jack Kennedy, commander of the multiagency unit, told local media that 22-year-old Kendarius Lewis has been charged with three counts of first-degree rape, two counts of first-degree sodomy, and two counts of sexual abuse first-degree.

Kennedy said the incidents occurred in both the Cottondale and Northport areas.
"In the last few months, investigators with the Sexual Assault Section of the VCU conducted an investigation into a report of sexual abuse of a child," he said. "While conducting the investigation, two additional victims were identified."

He then said no other details will be released at this time in an effort to protect the privacy of the victims.
Kennedy said that due to the nature of the assaults, and known proclivities of these types of offenders, the Violent Crimes Unit encourages anyone who may have been a victim or knows of any possible abuse by Lewis to contact investigators at (205) 464-8690.
