Man Arrested In Tuscaloosa For First-Degree Rape
The Tuscaloosa Violent Crimes Unit arrested a man this week accused of first-degree rape

TUSCALOOSA, AL β The Tuscaloosa Violent Crimes Unit has arrested a man accused of first-degree rape following an investigation by the unit's Sexual Assault Section over the last month.

Captain Jack Kennedy, commander of the multiagency unit, told local media on Friday that Dewayne Anthony Moore was arrested on Feb. 27 and is currently being held with no bond, pending judicial review.

"To protect the victimβs privacy, no other information will be released at this time," Kennedy said. "The victim in this case was an acquaintance, and it took a great deal of courage for her to come forward. The investigation is ongoing, and it is believed that Moore may have committed similar offenses against other women in the past."
Kennedy then said the Tuscaloosa Violent Crimes Unit encourages anyone else who may have been a victim of Moore to contact investigators at (205) 464-8692.
