Man Charged After Shooting At McDonald's On Buttermilk Road

One person is in custody after an individual was shot at the McDonald's at 6501 Buttermilk Road.

TUSCALOOSA, AL — One person is in custody after an individual was shot at the McDonald's at 6501 Buttermilk Road.

Captain Jack Kennedy, commander of the Tuscaloosa Violent Crimes Unit, said Tuscaloosa Police officers were dispatched at about 9:30 p.m. on the initial call after someone reported that he had been in a physical altercation with another person and after the fight was over, the second individual retrieved a firearm from his vehicle and shot at him.

The reporting victim told police he returned fire after he was shot at and the first shooter then left the scene.

Kennedy said 23-year-old Kendall Curry was soon located at DCH Regional Medical Center after arriving with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound.

Kennedy then said after interviewing all parties and reviewing the video evidence, Curry was taken into custody and charge with first-degree attempted assault.

His bond has not been set by the courts at this time.
