Memorial Service Details Announced For Dr. Ramesh Peramsetty

Tuscaloosa, AL — A memorial service has been announced for Dr. Ramesh Peramsetty, which will be held on Wednesday, Aug. 28 at Tuscaloosa Memorial Chapel.

Peramsetty died at his home on Aug. 23 at the age of 63.

According to his obituary, the physician was born on July 1, 1961, in Menakuru, India, where he was raised by a single mother before coming to the United States.

Peramsetty went on to become a board-certified physician in family and bariatric medicine, with a specialization in aesthetics.

Peramsetty then married Dr. Srilata Anne and relocated to Alabama, establishing a network of medical clinics across West Alabama, including: Crimson Urgent Care, Crimson Care Skyland, Alabama Family Medical Center, Crimson Village, Tuscaloosa Med Spa, Tuscaloosa Weight Loss Center, First Care, First Kids, First PT, Crimson Counseling, Allegra, Elite Aesthetics and Wellness, Saroni Real Estate and the Legacy of Crimson Village.

To honor its founder, Crimson Care says all of its local businesses will be closed for the day, with normal business hours set to resume Thursday.

Peramsetty was also considered a pillar of the community during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic and following 25 years of service to the Tuscaloosa community, the City of Tuscaloosa honored him with Dr. Peramsetty Day on March 28.

The city also renamed a street Dr. Peramsetty Avenue.

Peramsetty is survived by his wife and their four children: Dr. Sasank Peramsetty, Nikita Peramsetty, Ronica Peramsetty and Rohan Peramsetty.

A public visitation and Celebration of Life will be held on Wednesday, Aug. 28, from 10 a.m. - 7 p.m. at Tuscaloosa Memorial Chapel.

The family says memorial contributions can be made to the Peramsetty Foundation, 1410 Dr. Peramsetty Avenue, Tuscaloosa, AL 35404.

Tuscaloosa Memorial Chapel is located at 5434 Old Birmingham Highway.
