The news comes after the Wildcats finished the 2024 regular season 1-9 and without a single win in 7A competition. TCHS also lost to crosstown rival Central High to open the season.
Holcomb took the job after it was vacated by former head coach Adam Winegarden, with Patch reporting in late January that Winegarden left the program to become the director of leadership and high school relations at Troy University.
Holcomb came to Northport from Southside High School in Gadsden, where he led the Panthers to three consecutive playoff appearances and a region championship in 2023.
TCHS will now begin its second head coaching search in less than a calendar year.
"The administration will be working closely with the football staff to ensure a smooth transition and to continue building on the foundation laid by Coach Holcomb," TCHS said. "We remain committed to the growth and success of our football program and will support our players during this transition as we look toward the future."
This is a developing story. Tuscaloosa Patch will have more information as it becomes available.
