Moundville Man Struck And Killed Near Akron

MOUNDVILLE, AL — The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA) says a pedestrian was killed in Hale County Saturday night when he was struck by a vehicle on Alabama Highway 60.

ALEA says the fatal incident occurred at approximately 11:20 p.m. Saturday when Moundville native Michael E. Snipes, 52, was hit by the 2004 Honda Civic driven by an 18-year-old juvenile.

He was pronounced deceased at the scene, roughly a mile south of Akron.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
