TUSCALOOSA, AL — Former Crimson Tide football coach Nick Saban has been nominated for his first Emmy Award after retiring from college football and becoming an analyst and personality for ESPN.

Saban, who spent his first year of retirement as a central figure on ESPN's College GameDay morning show, is nominated for Outstanding Personality/Emerging On-Air Talent.

Other nominees include: Ryan Fitzpatrick (Prime Video); Jason Kelce (ESPN, ESPN2 & ABC); Richard Sherman (Prime Video); and Jay Wright (CBS/TNT).

Over Saban's 28 years as a college head coach, he won seven national championships, including six at Alabama and one at LSU, finishing with a career record of 292-71-1.

He went on to become a popular commodity of ESPN's beloved college football show in just his first year by winning the hearts of many with his colorful language and his own personal brand of humor and insight.

The Academy of Television Arts & Sciences will present the 77th Emmy Awards on Sept. 14.

CBS will carry the broadcast.
