Alabama continues to hold the second overall spot in the Southeastern Conference after a win over Georgia on Saturday.

Aiden Sherrell, a freshman from Detroit averaging 2.6 points a game coming into Saturday, came off the bench to pace the Tide offense in the first half, going 3-4 from the floor and 2-2 from three-point range to log 10 points in just nine minutes of play.

Sherrell's stats in the first half, alone, marked his single-best performance of his young Crimson Tide career.
Alabama held the lead for 16:47 of the first half, with Georgia never getting ahead, while Clifford Omuryi led the way on the boards in the first half for Alabama, snagging six rebounds over his first five minutes on the floor.

The Crimson Tide would not surrender its lead for the rest of the game.
All-American guard Mark Sears had another slow start and was held scoreless his first 10 minutes on the floor before settling in to lead both teams with 20 points.
But it would be Grant Nelson set the tone out of the locker room in the second half on his way to the game's only double-double, with the graduate student from Devils Lake, North Dakota, notching 16 points and 10 rebounds.
Five Alabama players scored in double figures Saturday: Mark Sears (20), Grant Nelson (16), Aiden Sherrell (12), Aden Holloway (10) and Chris Youngblood (10).
The win keeps Alabama in sole possession of second place in the Southeastern Conference regular season standings behind rival Auburn — the consensus No. 1 team in the country.
The victory also improves the Crimson Tide's all-time record against the Bulldogs (15-7, 3-6 SEC) to 101-53.
The Crimson Tide (19-3, 8-1 SEC) will return to action on Saturday, Feb. 8 when Alabama travels to Fayetteville for a matchup with Arkansas.
Tipoff is set for 7 p.m. and ESPN will carry the broadcast.
