Tuscaloosa Police Department spokeswoman Stephanie Taylor told local media Monday morning that TPD officers responded to 32nd Street and Exchange Avenue at 7:20 p.m. Sunday on the initial call.

Taylor said a Tuscaloosa County Sheriffβs deputy had stopped to assist a driver whose Nissan Altima had become stuck while crossing over train tracks.
She went on to say that the occupants of the car had exited the vehicle and were waiting for a tow truck when an oncoming train crashed into the car.

While no one was injured, Taylor said the car sustained significant damage.
