Northport Citizen Of The Year Honorees Revealed For 2025

NORTHPORT, AL — The Northport Citizen of the Year Inc. on Tuesday announced its 2025 honorees.

The award honors individuals who have demonstrated outstanding dedication, leadership and service to the community.

The 2025 Citizen of the Year honorees will be recognized during a luncheon scheduled for Nov. 6 from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Northport Civic Center.

Started in 1976, the program is organized by Northport Citizen of the Year, Inc., a nonprofit dedicated to highlighting the contributions of residents who make a positive impact through community involvement.

Here's a look at 2025's honorees:

• Citizen of the Year: Ophelia Tierce Harrison
• Business Leader: Brandon Cooper (Adams Antiques/The Potager)
• Education Leader: Sarah Gann (Echols Middle School)
• Religious Leader: Bishop Gloria Sylvester (New Dimensions Worship Center)
• Heritage/Pioneer: Sam Faucett (civic leader)
