"After much thoughtful consideration, and with a growing and aging family that increasingly deserves more of my time and attention, I have decided not to seek a contract extension with the City of Northport," she said. "In the coming months, I remain fully committed to ensuring a smooth and effective transition for the next City Administrator. I will continue to carry out all responsibilities associated with the upcoming election cycle, as well as complete the FY2026 budget process before my departure."

Webb then expressed her gratitude to the mayor, council and city staff for "allowing me to be a part of Northport's progress."

"It has been a privilege to work alongside such dedicated individuals in service to this growing and vibrant city," she said. "I look forward to watching Northport continue to thrive in the years ahead."

As Patch previously reported, Webb was one of 35 applicants vying for the job in March 2021 and came to Northport after serving as city attorney for the City of Tuscaloosa, making her the first woman to be appointed city administrator in Northport.

She filled the position left vacant by interim City Administrator Hardy McCollum, who served in the role since August 2019.

Webb has been involved in numerous high-profile projects during her time in City Hall, including the highly anticipated River Run Park, which is set to open in August, and the controversial University Beach resort development, to name a few.

Other recent highlights from her time in City Hall include Northport receiving the Silver Risk Management Award from the insurance divisions of the Alabama League of Municipalities, in addition to Fitch Ratings affirming the city's AA+ credit rating in February.

The city administrator is the most powerful non-elected official in City Hall who serves at the discretion of the Council, which will now be tasked with appointing Webb's replacement.
