Northport City Hall To Host Seedling Giveaway
The City of Northport on Tuesday announced it will host a Seedling Giveaway event on Saturday, Feb. 15.
NORTHPORT, AL — The City of Northport on Tuesday announced it will host a Seedling Giveaway event on Saturday, Feb. 15, as a way to promote environmental awareness and encourage residents to contribute to the beautification and ecological sustainability of the community.

The giveaway will be made possible through a partnership with the Alabama Forestry Commission and Alabama Power. It will be held at Northport City Hall from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m., or while supplies last.

Residents are encouraged to arrive early to secure seedlings due to high demand and limited quantities.
Available seedlings will include a variety of native tree species such as Bald Cypress, Eastern Redbud, Flowering Dogwood, Pecan, Persimmon, Red Maple, Southern Crab Apple and Swamp White Oak.

Citizens will have the chance to sign up for the free Northport recycling program and ask staff questions regarding the city's recycling services.
