NORTHPORT, AL β€” The Northport City Council's Retail Committee is set to make a recommendation for economic incentives to bring Dunkin' Donuts to the city.

City Council President Jeff Hogg on Friday announced that the committee, which consists of Hogg and District 1 Councilwoman and Pro Tem Christy Bobo, will hold a public hearing regarding the recommendation to the rest of the Council on Monday, Fen. 19.

Hogg said the proposed location will be at Buford Plaza at 2801 McFarland Boulevard.

"Our Retail Committee has worked hard to try and attract not only quality businesses but recognizable brand names, as well," Hogg said. "We feel that this project could help set the tone for the future of an area that was in need of improvement."

He also touted the proposed water park as an attractive selling point for the nationwide brand.
