TUSCALOOSA, AL — A Northport man died over the weekend from injuries sustained in a single-vehicle crash in Tuscaloosa County Friday.

The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA) said Sunday that fatal crash was reported around 4:27 p.m. when a 2006 Volkswagen Beetle driven by Michael S. Channell left the roadway and struck an embankment before overturning

The crash occurred on Tuscaloosa County Road 140, near Sipsey Valley Road, approximately two miles southeast of Buhl.
Troopers said Channell was transported to DCH Regional Medical Center in Tuscaloosa for medical treatment and succumbed to his injuries Saturday.

The cause remains under investigation.
