Northside High Confirms Minor Storm Damage Around Campus

Northside High School says it has sustained minor damage to certain parts of its athletic facilities and middle school

SAMANTHA, AL — Severe weather moving over much of Alabama has resulted in some minor structural damage in the area of Northside High School in northern Tuscaloosa County.

Northside High School football coach Chris Hilliker confirmed to Patch Thursday evening that the school's football scoreboard was blown over during the severe weather event, in addition to some damage to netting on the school's football practice field and several awnings around the middle school.

As of the publication of this story, 2,438 Tuscaloosa County residents were without power.

There are no active Tornado Warnings for Tuscaloosa County at this time, after two have been issued and allowed to expire for opposite ends of the county.

In neighboring Fayette County, the NOAA Storm Prediction Center has received reports of trees down and structural damage in the Boley Springs community.
