About three hours later, police were called to the 3400 block of Greensboro Avenue — the same storage unit facility where 28-year-old Autumn Mack was killed in April, as Patch previously reported.

Officers arrived shortly before 11 p.m. to find a 37-year-old Keeondray Sterling.dead from gunshot wounds.

Kennedy said another man — 37-year-old Cordell Shepherd — contacted police a short time later and admitted to shooting Sterling.

After reviewing security footage, interviewing witnesses and consulting with the District Attorney’s Office, the Violent Crimes Unit charged Shepherd with murder.

He was booked into the Tuscaloosa County Jail without bond. Police said the shooting stemmed from an argument over a woman.

Roughly an hour after the fatal shooting, officers responded to another shooting around 12:06 a.m. Sunday in the 800 block of 33rd Avenue.

Kennedy said a man was found with multiple gunshot wounds but is expected to survive.

The Violent Crimes Unit is investigating and had not released information about a suspect or motive as of Sunday.
