TUSCALOOSA, AL — One person is being treated for injuries after a shooting Tuesday afternoon at the Bobby Miller Center in Tuscaloosa County.

Captain Jack Kennedy, commander of the Tuscaloosa Violent Crimes Unit, said the Tuscaloosa County Sheriff's Office and VCU investigators responded to the shooting call at around 4 p.m.

Kennedy said one male shooting victim had been taken to DCH Regional Medical Center in Tuscaloosa by a private vehicle and is in serious condition.
"It was found a group was engaged in a large physical altercation when a shot was fired, striking the victim," Kennedy said. "The altercation began on the basketball court, and the shooting occurred inside the building near an exit door."
