TUSCALOOSA, AL — A suspect is in custody and one person is hospitalized after an overnight shooting in Tuscaloosa's West End.

The Tuscaloosa Police Department confirmed to Patch Wednesday morning that one male victim was shot and transported to DCH Regional Medical Center for treatment.

TPD spokeswoman Stephanie Taylor said the shooting occurred at approximately 11 p.m. Tuesday night at the Exxon gas station at the corner of 15th Street and Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard.

The investigation is now being handled by the Tuscaloosa Violent Crimes Unit.
