One Killed, Two Injured Monday In Bibb County Crash

TUSCALOOSA, AL — A Brierfield man is dead and two others are hospitalized with injuries following a two-vehicle crash in Bibb County Monday afternoon.

The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA) says the fatal crash occurred at approximately 1:24 p.m. Monday when a 2007 Toyota Camry driven by Lee R. Johnson, 81, was struck by a 1996 Ford Explorer on Alabama Highway 139 — roughly 15 minutes north of Centreville.

ALEA says Johnson was transported to Bibb Medical Center in Centreville, where he died from his injuries.

Two men in the Ford Explorer were both injured and also transported to Bibb Medical Center for treatment.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
