The shooting victim was transported to DCH Regional Medical Center in a personal vehicle and was last reported to be in serious condition. No arrests have been announced in the hours following the shooting.
"The Tuscaloosa County Park & Recreation Authority is deeply concerned about recent incidents involving gun violence," PARA said in statement on Wednesday. "Our primary mission is to provide a safe, welcoming environment for all members, patrons and the community. We continue to collaborate with law enforcement and city officials to increase security resources and preparedness across our facilities."

In the wake of the shooting, PARA said community involvement is key in preventing and responding to such dangerous situations.
PARA then encouraged members of the community to stay informed, participate in safety training and report suspicious activity if they see it.
PARA also pointed out its no-tolerance policy for fighting, violence and firearms — all of which are prohibited at all PARA facilities.
Those violating this policy will be permanently banned from PARA centers and events.
"It is unfortunate that we must address incidents like these, but PARA remains steadfast in our commitment to safety," the quasi-governmental agency said. "By working together as a community, we can foster an environment where everyone feels secure and welcome."
