Pedestrian Critically Injured After Being Struck On McFarland Boulevard In Northport

NORTHPORT, AL β€” A male pedestrian is hospitalized with life-threatening injuries after being struck by a vehicle Friday evening in Northport.

Northport Police Department Assistant Chief Keith Carpenter told local meet that the initial report of a traffic accident at 5:30 p.m. in the westbound lanes of the 3000 block of McFarland Boulevard.

NPD, Northport Fire and Rescue and NorthStar Ambulance responded to the scene where they located the accident involving a 2013 Ford Taurus that was traveling west that struck an unidentified male pedestrian.

Carpenter said the pedestrian was transported to DCH Regional Medical Center with life-threatening injuries.

He then said the accident is being investigated by NPD's Traffic Reconstruction Unit and no criminal charges are pending.
