Pedestrian Killed Tuesday Morning Was Brother Of Tuscaloosa Council President

As Patch previously reported, police responded to the intersection of University Boulevard and Juanita Drive on the initial call at 5:33 a.m.

The 51-year-old man, later identified as Bo Tyner, was transported to DCH Regional Medical Center but died from his injuries.
"We are just devastated by the tragic loss of my younger brother Bo who was struck and killed by a vehicle while attempting to cross University Boulevard this morning," Councilor Tyner said on Facebook Tuesday. "Words can't express how much we appreciate the outpouring of love shown through your calls texts and emails.

"Mom is just pitiful and just not up to seeing anyone at this time," Tyner added. "Bo was such a sweet wonderful person who had many struggles β he was adopted at the age of 22 months β and given the best life possible. I'm so grateful that me, Mom and Bo shared an extremely pleasant visit last night."
TPD said the driver of the vehicle remained on scene and the case is being handled by TPDβs Traffic Homicide unit, which investigates all serious and fatal accidents.
