TUSCALOOSA, AL β Officers with the Tuscaloosa Police Department responded Tuesday morning after a pedestrian was killed after being struck by a vehicle in Tuscaloosa.

TPD said police were called to the intersection of University Boulevard East and Juanita Drive at 5:33 a.m. Tuesday after a 51-year-old Tuscaloosa man was struck by a vehicle.

The man was transported to DCH Regional Medical Center but died from his injuries.
TPD said the driver of the vehicle remained on scene and the case is being handled by TPDβs Traffic Homicide unit, which investigates all serious and fatal accidents.

Additionally, TPD said University Boulevard East will remain closed in both directions this morning until the road is cleared and investigators complete the initial investigation.
